One case study, in depth, that you can verify yourself
A portfolio grid of pretty screenshots proves nothing. A trading platform you can open in another tab and use proves everything on this site. Here is what it does, told as the seven things it demonstrates.
I built the platform that runs my own company. Go and use it.
Not a portfolio of mock-ups for clients who do not exist. One live platform, trading every day, that you can open in another tab and check every claim on this page against.
- 130,000+
- live items, priced and searchable
- 115,000
- pages indexed by Google
- 100 / 100
- on Google's own speed, SEO and accessibility tests
- 2013
- trading since, on this platform's predecessors
- 01
A live platform of 130,000+ items
Sub-second search and filtering across the whole inventory, about 115,000 pages indexed by Google, every page generated from live data, and 100 scores on Google's own performance, SEO and accessibility tests. Open it and check.
- 02
Matching messy data to the official record
Free-text descriptions from one market matched to a statutory database of about 16,000 official codes, through typos, trim names and market differences, and the same items matched across two marketplaces with different naming to build like-for-like price comparisons. This is the hard, valuable skill, and most business data problems are exactly this shape.
- 03
A pricing engine that never sleeps
Exchange rates, taxes with age and emissions gates, duties, transport bands and fee tiers, recomputed continuously across the whole inventory and accurate to the cent against the state's own calculator.
- 04
Market intelligence at national scale
High-volume automated data acquisition from public sources, engineered to be respectful and reliable, running unattended for years. A weekly market index of median prices, movements and days-to-sell by segment that the business prices against.
- 05
Money and members
Card deposits through Stripe, saved searches, alert pipelines with per-user rules and quiet hours, transactional email that arrives.
- 06
A two-sided marketplace
Bidding, state machines, identity gating so neither side can go round the platform, evidence-based dispute handling, and live EU VAT-number verification with instant approval.
- 07
Operations that email before you notice
Zero-downtime deploys, a cache architecture behind a global CDN, monitoring that mails the owner a daily health digest and shouts when a number moves, and automated end-to-end test suites (almost a hundred checks on one module alone).
One boundary, stated plainly: the case study is the site, the engine, the dashboard and the speed. How the underlying stock is gathered is the business's competitive edge and is not for sale on a web page. Everything else, go and look at: ukcarimports.ie.
Your inventory is not cars, and that is fine
Boats, diggers, tiles, tractors, houses, lots. The engineering is identical; only the words change. Run the audit or pick your sector.
